Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders

October 29

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behaviors. It is called a spectrum disorder because there is a wide variation in the type of severity that people experience, and it occurs across all ethnic, racial and economic groups.

Participants in this session will learn about how autism can affect a person's ability to function in schools, at home and in the community. They will also learn ways to meet the educational and social needs of children and teens on the autism spectrum.

Parents who may have additional questions or training needs related to autism, specific to their student, may reach out to the Special Education Office for assistance in identifying staff who could provide further information and support.

Join us for our virtual session to learn more!
