Senior portraits: no-cost, yearbook-only photo

On Wednesday, Jan. 28, Upstate Images will be offering sessions at Albany High between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for any seniors who did not yet get their photo taken. This is a no-cost, yearbook-only photo session and will be held in the third-floor balcony. Each session will take approximately 10 minutes and there will be a break from noon-1 p.m. so the photographers can eat lunch.

Winter sports round-up

We have lots to celebrate when it comes to winter sports here at Albany High! Here are some highlights: 

  •  at the Jack Reed Showcase at Nazareth University last Saturday, beating top student-athletes from across the Northeast for a first-place overall finish! Bizer's performance was a trifecta - he set a new personal record, a new meet record and an all-time facility record!

  • is on a roll for the Falcons girls’ basketball team this winter. Over the last four games, she is averaging 28.5 points and 12.8 rebounds. That includes three straight games of 30 points or more, topped by a 36-point effort in a non-league game against New London!

  • Our kick off the week of Jan. 26! We also look forward to our Winter Pep Rally on Feb. 13.

  • The Albany Booster Club is seeking volunteers to help run our concession stand at home games this winter season! Both students and adult volunteers are encouraged to participate. to learn more and sign-up!

Registration is open for unified bowling

PTSA Meeting on Jan. 27

Students and families, please join us on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m. for our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) meeting. Additional details, including a Google Meet link to join virtually, are available on our online calendar


Donate blood at Albany High on Jan. 28!

Join us for Albany High's second blood drive of the school year. Students, staff and community members are invited to donate. Donors must be at least 16 years of age and all prospective donors must make an appointment. Visit our online calendar for additional details. 


Falcons Got Talent

Calling all Falcon singers! Our students in the Tri-M Music Honor society are proud to present “Falcons Got Talent,” which will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Students in grades 9–12 are invited to sign up to perform a vocal solo act. This will be a spectacular night of food, friends and karaoke performances!

Free and open to the public. Spread the word! Student performers must pre-register. Check your student email for the sign-up form and see Tony Berman if you have questions.


Tickets are on sale for Snow Ball

Wintertime is the perfect time to dance the night away! City School District of Albany students in grades 9-12 are invited to join us for our Snow Ball on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at Albany High. Tickets are $5 and are non-refundable. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the event. Purchase tickets at the box office in the Albany High main lobby during lunch periods from Jan. 26-Feb.27.


Adam Aleksic to present at NYS Writers Institute on Jan. 29

Did you know Adam Aleksic - known as @etymologynerd - was the Albany High 2019 salutatorian?! Come see Aleksic kick off the spring 2026 season of events for the NYS Writers Institute with a fun and engaging presentation, "The Future of Language." This event, hosted at the University at Albany, is free and open to the public. Check out this news story to learn more!

Save the date for Valentine Spa Day!

Love is in the air! Join us for Valentine Spa Day on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.! Our cosmetology and barbering students look forward to providing haircuts and beauty services for you and the special people in your life. Our culinary students will also be selling some delicious fare at the event. We hope to see you there!


Online Success Program

Our Online Success Center Program allows students to raise their grade for previous quarters. This is a fantastic opportunity for our Falcons to earn back credit and enhance their academic achievement! to learn more!


After-school tutoring at Albany High

Falcons, do you need extra help with your coursework? Join us at our , which runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in room 2235. If you need extra help with your classes, come join us and get some support from Albany High teachers. Hope to see you there!
