Upstate Images will be holding senior portrait sessions at Albany High from Tuesday, Jan. 20, through Friday, Jan. 23. If you have not yet booked your session, please do so as soon as possible. for additional details.
Regents week: Jan. 20-23
Regents exams will be taking place Tuesday, Jan. 20 to Friday, Jan. 23. Students only need to report to school on the days they have a scheduled Regents exam. for additional details so you can plan accordingly.
We are pleased to offer support sessions during Regents week for students in grades 9–12 who need to complete and submit missed assignments. for details on days, times and locations.
Students who are enrolled in the Online Success Program are encouraged to attend sessions during Regents week. for additional details.
College Information Night
We invite students in grades 10-11 and their families to join us for on Wednesday, Jan. 21. This event will include an overview of the college search and application process. Anyone who is considering post-high school education, whether it is at a four-year or two-year college, a business college or technical school, should attend.
Albany High alum Adam Aleksic to present a NYS Writers Institute
Did you know Adam Aleksic - know as @etymologynerd - was the Albany High 2019 salutatorian?! Come see Aleksic kick off the spring 2026 season of events for the NYS Writers Institute with a fun and engaging presentation, The Future of Language. This event, hosted at the University at Albany, is free and open to the public. Check out this news story to learn more!
Winter sports are heating up!
It's been amazing to see our Falcons in action this week! Our had a strong performance at their tournament on Saturday, with senior Harriet Westin finishing fourth in her weight class with a 2-3 record. Our boys' and girls' indoor track team soared at the Ed Cepiel Invitational in Springfield, MA. On Tuesday evening, our bowling team had an awesome 24-8 win over Saratoga and our boys' basketball team celebrated a 79-65 win over Saratoga.
Coming up, we look forward to celebrating our seniors at our senior night celebrations.

The Albany Booster Club is seeking volunteers to help run our concession stand at home games this winter season! Both students and adult volunteers are encouraged to participate. to learn more and sign up!

Falcons Got Talent
Calling all Falcon singers! Our students in the Tri-M Music Honor society are proud to present “Falcons Got Talent,” which will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Albany High auditorium. Students in grades 9–12 are invited to sign up to perform a vocal solo act. This will be a spectacular night of food, friends and karaoke performances!
Free and open to the public. Spread the word! Student performers must pre-register. Check your student email for the sign-up form and see Mr. Tony Berman if you have questions.

Falcon Market now opens at 3 p.m. on school days
The Falcon Market is a wonderful resource for our Albany High students and their families! Please note we've expanded our hours of operation so the Falcon Market now opens at 3 p.m. on school days instead of 3:30 p.m.
Donations for the Falcon Market are always welcome; they can be dropped off at our main office on school days from 9 a.m.- 2p.m. Currently, our highest needs for donations are boys' clothing, shoes, athletic wear and toiletries. New clothing, as well as gently-used clothing that has been laundered, is much appreciated by our students and families.

Chase the winter blues with Falcon jazz!
Come enjoy some amazing tunes performed by our advanced jazz improvisation ensemble, The Jazzmanian Devils, and our intermediate jazz improvisation ensemble, The B Flats, on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6-9 p.m. at The Hollow. There is no entry fee, but guests are encouraged to purchase some delicious fare while they enjoy the performance. Hope to see you there!

Audition for Albanettes & Troubadours!
The Albanettes and the Troubadors comprise our chamber choir, our most advanced choir here at Albany High! All current Albany High students are invited to audition the week of Jan. 12. Spectacular moments in sports
It's been thrilling to see our Falcons in action this week! Our girls' basketball team earned an impressive 49-35 home victory against Bethlehem on Tuesday night. Our boys' wrestling team had an exciting match-up against Schenectady on Wednesday, with six student-athletes securing victories in their individual weight classes! Additionally, we celebrate Mitchell Cartwright, an Albany High senior who has emerged as one of the top offensive defensemen in the Capital District High School Hockey League this season.
Want a fun way to support our student-athletes? The Albany Booster Club is seeking volunteers to help run our concession stand at home games this winter season! Both students and adult volunteers are encouraged to participate. to learn more and sign-up!
Last, but not least, as we look forward to the spring athletic season, students are encouraged to participate in open gym sessions.
