The MMS gym was fire this week!

On Tuesday Image Quilt Theater, led by Omonike Akinyemi,   as part of our Black History Month celebrations.

But the beautiful dances didn’t just entertain – the intricate and meaningful choreography shared stories and relayed the history of generations of Afro-Cuban, Afro-Haitian and West African people.

According to Jeanette Carioto, mom to Hunter (grade 4) and Rider (grade 1) Sobik, "Our boys both were singing a song all evening that they were taught during this."

Montessori Magnet School is committed to learning year-round about African American history and heroes, not just during the month of February.
