School Resource Officer Nicole Reddix opened her annual holiday store Tuesday at William S. Hackett Middle School, where students bought gifts for family and friends using tickets they’d earned by doing a great job participating in class and meeting schoolwide behavior expectations.
Students in John Glenn, Kelly MacNabb, Cindy Moorcroft, Abigail Pauli, Stephanie Resila and Sidra Stephens’ classes chose then wrapped their gifts with guidance and occasional assistance.
And, for the first time, the student shoppers could pick out a gift for themselves thanks to a donation of toys by CSX.
Each year, Reddix coordinates donations to the store and oversees student shopping. Special shoutouts to The Bonadio Group, the Albany County Probation Department and school district staff for their contributions that made the store possible.
The store also will be open on Wednesday and Thursday for students from those classes who didn’t get a chance to shop on Tuesday.
