Extended School Year Summer Program
The Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program is for students with disabilities who have demonstrated regression in the following areas: academics, communication, social-emotional functioning, or other skills identified on a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
The day will be structured into ELA and Math instructional blocks. Special education teachers and teaching assistants will provide individual and small group instruction. Related service providers will provide speech therapy, social work, occupational therapy and/or physical therapy according to the student’s IEP. Programs and related services are available both in-person and virtually based on parent choice.
At the annual review meeting, the Committee on Special Education (CSE) determines eligibility for Extended School Year (ESY) based upon the student’s regression and recoupment data.
