On Saturday, Albany High School's varsity girls’ basketball team faced off against Section IV opponent Binghamton at home. Our Falcons defeated the Patriots, 65-38!

Senior Azera Gates led the Falcons (6-2) with 18 points, and she also had seven assists and five rebounds. Senior Mia Corazzini posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, and senior Jasanii Francis Torres finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Gates is now 32 points away from achieving 1,000 points in her varsity career, an accomplishment very few student-athletes achieve!

The Falcons are currently ranked No. 25 in the state among Class AAA schools. They have a pair of non-league games this week -- at Holy Names on Thursday, and home against White Plains from Section I on Saturday. Tipoff for Saturday's game is 1 p.m. Come cheer them on at The Nest on Saturday afternoon!

Let’s go Falcons!
